Night Vision Goggles $80
May those that love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping.

Is this the same make and model used by the special forces
... down at the mall?
Just joking but at this low price and Amazon's easy return policy it'll at least give you one or two nights of fun testing.
On the subject of night vision equipment both myself and at least one of those YouTube ex-military "experts" guys came to the same conclusion.
Night vision equipment definitely has their time and place but a lot of nights you do have some ambient light from the Moon, stars, light pole pollution from close citys, etc. that if you let your eyes adjust to it for 45 minutes or more and Especially if you eyes are used to going out in the dark for extended periods of time (hours most nights) your natural night vision is actually pretty good compared to someone who hasn't been doing those same things.
" It's much faster for our eyes to adapt to bright light than to adjust for the darkness. Cones attain maximum sensitivity in five to seven minutes while rods require thirty to forty-five minutes or more of absolute darkness to attain 80% dark adaptation. Total dark adaptation can take many hours."Comment

price back up too. darn I missed this.Comment

those that missed it should be happier then those that got it. The problem with ALL these digitals is that it is not truly 1X zoom so you are always going to be magnified and getting used to that is damn near (pun intended) impossible. These are a novelty. I have a set similar to this mounted to a bump helmet along with a IR light and walking around even in an open field is a joke. I have now tested them in menache meadows just last weekend (dark nights and light) and have also tried them outside in the city and in the house. Unless you have real NODS dont try to use these things to save your life unless it is just for observation.sigpic

I got mine, definitely just for the novelty. For the price, that's what I expected.
They do work really well and even came with a micro SD card. Can take pictures or videos.
It has a color mode and an IR mode. The IR lights up bright red, so if you're a potential target, you're easy to spot.
I played with them in the back yard, and watching the lizards running around at night worked great. Just sit back and be still and enjoy.
If you try to walk, you will trip or run into something. They are not made for movement. The focus is manual, not automatic, so you are constantly adjusting the focus for near/far depending on what you are looking toward. Also, it's a single lens. The other side is the IR light. It does feed a screen that's pretty clear. Again, if sitting still, it works great.
Worth $80? yeah. Worth $180? Nope.Comment
