If you live in a free state these are a great deal. If you live in CA and have to spend another $40 on mags, $75-$100 on a transfer fee, $40 on DROS, plus sales tax - not so much....

Better to wait for Glocktober and a $449 deal on a brand new one

    449+tax+dros=530

    319+tax+transfer+mags= 480

Plus the trade in probably has night sights installed. Turners does glocktober around me. The only local shop that does. Their price for glocktober 2022 for a Glock 17 was an amazingly low 549.99. Glad there’s a blue label dealer near me lol

      1. You must be fun at parties lol. 9/10 a dealer won't even look to see if it's made in USA or Austria or even care for that matter. There is nothing on the 4473 that asks for the firearms origin country.
      2. Not all shops charge $100 for transfer and 9/10 it's only 10-20 extra for an additional firearm. Divide and concur.
      3. A lot of times these places will ship the mags separate to a buddy out of state YMMV.
      4. 40 dros no matter whether you buy in from a CA dealer on or online.

        1. Dealer will check whether it?s a USA made one because of the roster. I worked at a shop in 2011 and a coworker sold a gen 3 34 made in the USA. The owner caught it, changed the dros paperwork and subbed an Austrian made one.

The USA made ones were sold as SSE pistols.

        3. I?ve done that with a Glock 22. My buddy put in the blocks I mailed to him.

Easily $100 saved on the cheapest on sale Glock when you consider out the door price.
I see you?re in Ventura county. Which FFL do you use?

Are the 2x 10 round mags + sales tax (that usually comes with a new Glock) included in your calculation?

Even if you have to go out and buy two magazines for the firearm it still doesn't account for the hundred plus dollars in savings
Sorry, by sales tax I meant the cost of 10 round mags plus sales tax on them.

Though I have yet to encounter a CA FFL willing to do so, you may be right about some FFL's willing to block mags for you, but then again, I would imagine that they would not do that for free and would charge a fee for such service? This would add to the overall cost, right?!

I have already explored this option many years back with this exact same company and found that in the end, it's just better to just buy brand new. The savings is minimal for a pistol with a unknown history. Now, even the listing says 2 x17 round mags are included. Now look at their policy on mags shipped to California over 10 rounds. They will simply remove it and provide no substitute.

Police trade ins are generally carried a lot and fired very little.

Savings is not ?minimal? lol you?ll save roughly a 30% off brand new.

But we get it, not everyone wants to buy a used gun.
