Woot: 350W Electric "Road" Bike from $2.5K down to $639
I'm not into electric bicycles, but if this is an actual true deal, then it is too good not to share. Those of you into this sort of thing can chime in if it's really a good deal or not!

    Amazon list is at $2.5K:

    Woot is only $639:

Company Website: Looks like they are indeed listed as $2,500?

I do see many other electric bikes at the ~$600 range on Amazon tho.. I'm just not sure if this brand is spec'd way above these or even just a better known brand than the multitude of other no-name brands?!

Seems your listing is a mountain bike variant and the one I posted is a road bike configured for a "commuter" with from headlight, a rear carrier, bike stand and information LCD console. I prefer a mountain bike if I ever decide to get one, but the commuter bike seems better equipped for the money?

I can't find anything about that bike that makes it worth $2500. It's just your typical $600 Chinese electric bike, imo.

Yeah, that would be smart if you already know a person who'd be interested and you can sell the second one for maybe $200-$300 more just to offset the final cost of the bike you're keeping?!

Without reseach, I figured the same...

Waiting to see if someone else with experience in these bikes feels the same...

I tried to buy that used Sondors bike b'c I think it looks way better and it's foldable. But, $100 to ship turned me off.

Looking forward to the reviews. I was told by a friend to seek out a 500 watt motor over the 350. This post prompted me to take a look at amazon which I hadn't done for a while. An ebike is probably in my future but the options vary so much, so many non - name brands. Warranty is pretty important to me as is someone local that can service it. I found this one which I thought compared a little to this one here a 500w motor for $509.
                        1. Compared to what?
                        2. At what cost?
                        3. What hard evidence do you have?

Great question. I myself don't know much about the subject. I researched a bit and found this article which I will just note the key points to know on the subject!

"...it depends greatly upon rider weight and whether you?ll be climbing a lot of hills. In my experience, 350 watts is perfectly fine on flat ground"

"Something else that is important to know is that one ebike company advertising a motor as 350 watts may not have the same performance as a 350 watt motor from another company. That's because wattage can be listed as either nominal capacity or peak capacity. Some companies will list both."

Most important takeaway is to choose a bike with a mid-drive motor rather than hub IMO!

"There's also a difference in performance between hub and mid-drive electric motors. A 350-watt hub motor does not equal a 350-watt mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors are more efficient, typically have more torque as compared to a hub motor, and can utilize the bike's gears. Mid-drive motors are great hill climbers because of this."

I used to have a "cheap chinese" electric mountain bike with fat tires, and that was a 500W motor. It was pretty powerful but the battery started to drain quicker over time. I paid $1400 for it, but that was back in 2019. Was fun for awhile but got boring because of the powerful motor, and I like regular mountain bikes, so I sold it for the same price a year later.

If you just want something to joy ride in or even commute on relatively flat grounds, this bike will work well for you. These 'cheap chinese' bikes are usually Class 3 bikes with thumb-lever throttles, so that shouldn't matter in most cases but some areas don't allow Class 3 bikes on their paths.
