Also - if it was actually more that 1 1/2 years and beyond your warranty period - why would you destroy a safe over a lock issue when you could contact the manufacturer and they would help you solve it for a fee?

    This doesn't make sense...

Everyone has different experience with various products and customer service.

I personally like all these "user reviews" of various products in deals, sales, coupons thread as it can help me decide better. In my opinion, the negative detailed reviews are the most plausible reviews for a product.

Rhyno thanks for your experience review. It wasn't like you were pushing a 2k safe over this safe, you compared cannon to rhino, which both are very comparable in price and quality.

There are hybrid locks out there. You don't need either a mechanical or digital lock, you can have both combined.

Sportsman Steel Safes on Paramount Blvd, Long Beach Ca. I bought a nice 800lb safe from them 30 yrs ago and has served well.

Hi, If you mean free delivery to store? Not what I want. I'd have to go to the store, somehow load it on a truck, and then unload it at home.

But checking local stock or using the free delivery to the local store is a good thing to consider and I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks.

Check bass pro, turners and ammo bros they seem to have a decent selection of safes....in fact there's a safe store next to the ammo bros store in Ontario

You'd be more likely to discovery a covid vaccine than the gauge of steel this safe has. When safe companies hide their specs, there's a reason.

It actually says 14ga on the front page, you just need to click, "show more".

                          14ga? Isn't 16ga aluminum foil (j/k)?

I would look for at least 10ga.

Just for information, Costco has put out 2 same brand safes from Big Horn, many of you will not notice or realize.

This is BigHorn b5529ecs, and there was another BigHorn 19ECB that was same priced, and also regularly 549-599 on sale.
The 19ECB was available until they went cheaper b5529ecs.

They will look the same safe, but with key differences - quality. 19ECB is 12ga steel, b5529ecs is 14ga., and it goes on.

Those of you that argue BigHorn is great, check your model and see if it matches this in this thread. If it doesn't, just maybe believe that when people say this safe is crap.
