All of my battery powered tools are Ryobi. I dont use them commercially, but I am a heavy use homeowner and they have never let me down. Ive built room additions, patio covers, go karts etc. I have two drills, 2 impacts, sawzall, vacuum, shop blower, grass trimmer. The only POS ryobi tool was the incandescent flashlight.

Thanks! Picked one up. I have an old Ryobi kit and only one of the newer batteries.

Darn, why can’t they have one universal interface between tools and batteries? I have some 6 or 7 different interfaces for battery powered tools just in the garage.

I have their regular cordless drill and circular saw. They're enough to get jobs done around the house... Built a work table from scratch with them a couple months ago. The primary limitation has always been because I forgot to recharge the battery lol

No heavy commercial use on my end though.

Thanks for the input, everybody. May pick up the reciprocating saw since having a cordless one would be handy around the house.

So far that's been my attraction to Ryobi. They have kept their batteries and tools compatible. I have other brand drills that need new batteries. But compatible tools are no longer available. So I'm switching over to Ryboi.

I use tools for household projects. No commercial work. So far so good with Ryboi.

Thanks for the link OP. That seems like a good deal.

I’ve used my Ryobi tools pretty hard over the years and never had one fail on me. Batteries last a long time also

Always thought they were cheap junk until I inherited all my dads power tools. He had batteries 10 years old still work like a champ. My dewt stuff took a dump after a few years and cost more.

awesome stuff for the average homeowner and for those that want a huge variety of tools.

my non-standard favorites: 150W inverter (you can use Ryobi batteries to power small AC stuff in blackouts), (bigger and really handy) tire inflator, shears (for wire fencing), and the area light (automatic backup lighting using Ryobi batteries while maintaining the charge)

they also have a 40V line for heavier duty yard tools

I bought a kit several years ago and the tools still work great.

I put a lot of use in the reciprocating saw and drill.

One battery died and that is about it.

I am not a major handyman, but they do the job for me.

If you just want another tool, you can order online. Have the tool set for in-store pickup, and have the batteries set to be shipped to you. Then immediately after ordering, you can go in and cancel the batteries only. The discount on the tool stays and you can pick that up at your local store.

You could do the reverse if you just need a couple more batteries.

Isnt that a bit unethical? To keep the free tool but cancel the battery order?

Also do this new lithium battery work in their old tools? Have a cordless drill that the battery crapped out but it was the old nicad type before lithium was even a thing.
