I see that you're a junior member here. Permit me to share the following: bullet buttons are no longer legal in California (unless you registered them prior to 2017).
You can still have a centerfire semiautomatic rifle with flash hider, pistol grip, adjustable stock, etc if you use a fixed magazine device (which works well in an AR, since the upper receiver is quickly unpinned from the lower receiver), or you can have a "featureless" rifle.

I'm so glad I resisted the urge to buy a couple of those buttugly Hipoint carbines for my Brother and I and then having to register them as RAW's or make them even uglier by going featureless.
