I have both the Yi and Wyze cam. Wyze cam is better.
14 day rolling cloud storage included with the Wyze.
My Yi

I've been using the Wize pan cam with great success.
I do use an SD card so that adds a bit of $ but still under $50 total. My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

Wow Amazon is really becoming a ****show.
So I saw that if I ordered the Wyze Cam Pan this morning it would be delivered today, so I went ahead and ordered it. Few hours ago I get an email saying delayed until 9pm tonight. Now I just got an email saying "delayed in transit, should be there by Wednesday" or some BS like that. Hey Bezos, here's an idea...don't offer what you can't deliver on! Twice in a row now!Comment

Amazon dropped it of this afternoon (the Wyze Cam Pan).
Been playing with it for a couple hrs now.
Fun stuff and cheap entertainment for $35. The advancements in tech never fail to amaze me.
At first, video was super laggy, but a simple click at the Enable Hardware Decoder box in the app fixed that.
I've kind of been getting obsessed with video surveillance systems lately (just sold a house for a guy that had an 8-cam 4K system, pretty impressive!).
Not sure if I'll keep the Wyze cam long-term or return it and get something else. What I'd really like is something like the Amcrest cams in Ultra HD or 4K. I'd prefer hardwired with PoE, which they can do, but their field of vision is only 90 degrees, I'd like 120 at minimum. But for now the Wyze Cam Pan seems to check a lot of my initial boxes for $35 and should provide a good deterrent for keeping the dog out of the cat food when no one's home. I was actually hoping Amzn would also drop off the Yi so I could compare the two, but as it was cancelled before delivery I guess it went back to the mother ship.

Wyze cam also has aftermarket support: https://www.amazon.com/Protective-Br.../dp/B07GCX831T
I just need to figure out how to pair it with my Alexa.Last edited by WarBoyNux; 11-19-2018, 8:14 PM.Comment
