These transmit less than 2 watts (compared to the advertised 3 watts) and have no water sealing at all (loos plastic fit). Obviously not as good as your mainstream Motorolas and Vertex. However, many radios fall under this same category at a higher price. These would work fine for "normal" use especially for their throwaway price.
