How do these come in the box? Are they wrapped in plastic? Is the battery already installed?

I just received mine and it was sitting on the eggshell foam off to the side and crooked. There was no plastic wrapper. The black finish is scraped off the left edge of the objective lens showing 1.25" of silver metal underneath. The optic was turned on to position 3. Who knows how much battery life is left.

Tell me this isn't normal.

Mine came in a cardboard box also but no foam just paper to keep it from rattling around. Totally cheesy. Battery installed, but off.
The serial # is after 97,000.

Just got it today. Serial is greater than 89,000. Came in the official Trijicon hard case with all the usual paperwork.

Mine came like that (but not scratched). I searched for unboxing videos and they were the same. I like the size and weight so far.

Mine came in the usual plastic case. I wouldn't be happy if it came in cardboard.

They do come with the battery installed and there's no plastic wrap according to an unboxing video on YouTube (thanks Joe Register).

Maybe mine was dropped by the shipper at some point and it shifted the optic in the eggshell foam and accidentally turned it on.

And maybe it came from the factory with the black finish scratched off the edge.

Who knows?
