I researched starter drones on RC forum (RCGroups.com) and found lots of recommendations for the tiny indoor E010 (under $20). Even though larger ones are easier to see how they are oriented and therefore easier to fly outdoors. But learning indoors with these new tiny ones is not dangerous to furniture and they stay close enough to see well.
Next going to Youtube I find that these guys like the F36 (just as cheap) even better a little bit.
