Again. Still waiting on the shipping of my BJ's that I ordered on Friday and Saturday. Still in process. These were the orders where they were up for about ten minutes. Meanwhile,

Again, the tax is little or nothing when comparing the deals you can get. Cabela's is still a great place to buy if you know what you are doing and wait for the sales. I've been paying tax here in NV since forever and while I sent a fair number of orders to tax free FL, not all of them. The tax makes little or no difference due to all the coupons, gift cards, rebaters, 10% off'ers and good sale prices. When I say good sale prices, what I mean is they are more competitive prices. I'm sure others are still cheaper, but not when you factor in another 25-45% off.
I probably wouldn't think of buying from C's without all the "bells and whistles", but then, I don't have to. I have the "bells and whistles" as many here do also.
PS: don't forget the gift cards reduces the tax rate also.Actually Sue's HusbandComment

Calamity,
I put the direct link below just in case anyone got confused.
As someone who has been doing taxes for many years, I know all too well about California and sales tax. I get notices every week from the State Board of Equalization in my business mailbox about the importance of reminding clients to collect sales tax and the penalties for not doing so. Many of us California residents have to pay high sales tax rates for other things (over 10%) as well as high income taxes(over 12%) and other taxes and fees because we live in this state. But as Calamity said, you have to look at the overall picture. I like to get a good deal just as much as anyone else and try to get as many combined discounts as possible from gift cards, sales, cash back sites and so on. So the final price pay might be a little higher now that we have to pay sales tax, but overall, I think a lot of us will still come out with a pretty good price on the things we're looking to buy from Cabela's. I think the key will be to keep an eye on a particular item or items you're looking for and when you notice it's a really good price that would be the time to buy.Last edited by nbk992h; 10-30-2017, 10:35 AM.NRA LIfe MemberComment

Absolutely correct with the other statement. Those of you, like me, retired with time on our hands, can wait, look for bargains, then buy using gift cards and rebaters. Others don't have the time to do this. That's why we post here to help the others. At least it's my reason. If you are looking for something from C's, then it's best to check here a couple times during the days when you have time. It doesn't take that long.Actually Sue's HusbandComment

Remember guys, you always can convert your Cabela's gift cards to Bass Pro and vice versa. This could work in your favor as BP usually don't have discounted gift cards. Or at least as good as Cabela's. Deals can be found on BP from time to time so with GC and AJ (4% and 8% depending on their mood) they can make for some killer deals.Comment
