Edit: there is another 'polyformance' in a yellow box that says non-magnetic on it, but still with a steel casing. May or may not be good for restricted ranges.

The projectile itself--up to the very tip--is still magnetic. Possibly INSIDE it is not, but all parts of the round attract a magnet. Wouldn't that constitute the entire thing as magnetic?

I've never gone to a range with the restriction, do they mostly just put a magnet to the casings/anywhere or only check the projectile portion?

Not sure in SoCal, the only range they tested my ammo was at Front Sight, NV. They took a magnet and tried to stick it to the projectile. I guess they can tell if it is the projectile or the case that is magnetic.

Says it may not be good for the AR-15, can anyone verify this? I just picked up a 7.62 upper and dont want to buy this if it wont run.

You'll likely need an extended firing pin and either a standard hammer spring or extra powered one to ignite most of the x39 ammo (besides brass cased, expensive stuff). Once you have those items in your build, you're gtg with most if not all x39 ammo.
