Didn't see this posted yet, for anyone looking to get into the blackpowder game Cabelas has revolvers on sale starting at $159 for the brass frame ones, if you have discount gift cards and AJ or swagbucks to stack the savings make it a smoking nice deal in my opinion, free shipping since it's over their $99 threshold
To anyone new or wondering, the brass frame ones are fully functional but not quite as durable as the steel ones, and the recommended charge load is slightly less. If you are just shooting paper you probably won't need the additional power the extra 5 or 10 grains of powder the steel frame lets you load. If you are not sure you will stick with black powder, I'd say just get the cheaper brass frame
I personally got this Remington steel frame 1858 copy last year and the quality is very nice, it is a really fun shooter. Pretty heavy too so the recoil is very light, maybe comparable to a 38 special out of a full size revolver. I think the sights are better on the Remington than the Colt but it is all personal preference. The rear sight is on the frame for the Remington, the Colt uses a notch in the hammer. Just remember to clean after shooting if you use the real black powder!
Also, if you are thinking about getting the Colt Walker, know what you are getting into and be aware of its size, it looks much smaller in the Cabelas pictures. Definitely the hand cannon of its day hehe
