Just came via email for the snafu with the coupon a couple weeks ago. Not sure if this is targeted to people who tried to use the last coupon and couldn't or if it will work for everyone.

UPDATE - not working for some people. Looks like it only works if you tried to use the code last time and couldn't. YMMV

I never complained at all, but I did try to apply the last code without success and never completed the purchase. So that must have flagged my account.

I think the offer is tied to only eBay customer accounts who attempted to use the discount code at check-out and was declined.

They probably created a report and just offered it to us. I had no issue using mine!

I didn't contact ebay. But I did attempt to use the other code and when it did not apply the discount, I backed out.

Maybe that's why I received today's email and promo code, because I attempted to use the old one.
