Good enough for government. I can't speak on these particular models, but most of the time in service I wore steel-toed Bates. Good to go.

Boots just arent something I skimp out on anymore. I did it once and I'll never do it again. Your feet are important, treat them nicely. Danners are a pretty penny but thats generally what I go with now.

Bates aren't skimping. I wore Bates boots in the Army and off and on as a LEO for the past 16 years

I don't like Danners. Very heavy and very hot boots. Feet cook in them in hot weather. I think a lot of their sales come from people buying them just because that is what they see others wearing.

got mine and they are gtg for everyday wear and tear, only time will tell how long they will last.
