    CA Compliance Services

Free State Rifle LLC is now open to the public. We unlock the opportunity for dealers and consumers alike to access inventory never intended to see California soil.
Consumers can take full advantage of online sales and inventory from thousands of our favorite online retailers to have shipped to us for compliance services prior to shipping to your LGS. If preferred, you can request your local dealer to reach out to us for middleman services so you can still support local business while still getting the firearm you're after.

    Services provided:
    • Fixed magazine modifications
    • Fixed folding/adjustable stocks
    • In-house Kydex wraps
    • In-house carbon fiber compliance parts
    • Double action to single action conversions for qualifying off-roster revolvers
    • Single shot AK shotgun conversions

Order direct from us or drop ship from your distributor or online vendor for industry leading quality at standard market rates.

    Contact us at:
    Retail: Sales@FreeStateRifle.com
    Dealers: Admin@FreeStateRifle.com

    Dealer Process:
    • Fill out our dealer agreement form here
    • E-mail us with special instructions per shipment (example: "All ARs fixed mag except LWRC, featureless." *or* All AKs CompMag except RAS47s, featureless")
    • Provide your rep with our FFL
    • Place order as normal, drop shipped to FSR
    • Once we receive your order, we will begin compliance and contact you should there be any compatibility issues.
    • Once complete, your order will be invoiced, billed and shipped with tracking, invoice and CFLC.

    Retail Process:
    • If you've found a great deal or a rare find online, be it Gun Broker, Palmetto or one of the countless go-to online shops, it is important to call them directly to ensure they will ship the firearm to an out of state FFL. This is common practice and should rarely be a problem with the business owners or company policies.
    • E-mail us requesting compliance for Make/Model and preferably a direct URL and your preferred method of compliance listed on our site. There's also always a chance we can beat the price! If you have questions or need help deciding, we'll gladly help.
    • Once given the green light to place your order, place your online order as usual then e-mail us with your
    - Preferred local gun shop you wish to complete the paperwork with
    - Your full name
    - Phone number
    - Zip code
    - Order number so we can reference your order with the business you ordered from when we supply them our FFL.
    • We will complete your order, create an invoice that can be paid via CC/check/e-check/ACH/Zelle. Unfortunately, we cannot accept Paypal due to their firearm policy. Once Payment clears, your order will be shipped out to your selected dealer and they will contact you when it's available to start your DROS.
    • We do not block magazines. We may make special exceptions for rare/costly magazines by request, but it's typically cost prohibitive for all parties involved for ordinary $8 mags.

Don't catch a felony running compliance through a company that doesn't care enough about your freedom to so much as Google a muzzle device. The model of the "brake" is an "FSC30" which stands for Flash Suppressing Compensator-30cal. Searching the patent number on the muzzle device also claims flash suppressing capabilities.

Why do we completely remove the forward grip? While it would be easier to tack weld it folded, we'd prefer if your fingers stay in tact.

Aside from safety, we want to protect your investment by making as few alterations as possible. Should laws change or you move to a free state, you can simply re-install the factory forward grip in about a minute.

There's no doubt some of the geometries of these thumbhole stocks are complicated. While others may not resort to a full Kydex wrap such as the one pictured, it doesn't take much heat to make Kydex soft which makes it likely to loosen and rattle after sitting in a warm vehicle or on the tailgate while you're out at your favorite spot. Easy enough fix with a heatgun, I suppose. This isn't a real issue with most wraps, but thumbhole stocks in particular due to their sandwich design that are under a constant tension.

Rather than dealing with all of that, we went ahead and made ours out of a carbon fiber blend that has more than double the resistance to heat than the Kydex counterpart.

Another example of something that may seem legal at first but is in fact still an AW due to the large gap below the uppermost exposed portion of the trigger.

Can you give a range for your fees so I have an idea of what your service is like?

I'm looking to convert a PTR-91 (grip wrap + flash hider removal -- I have the CA-compliant brake already). What would this typically cost?

Our minimum charge is $25 for processing. This would be the charge plus shipping if a customer were to accidentally send the wrong firearm to us or if they were using us as a forwarding service from a retailer that won't ship an already legal firearm to CA.

Our maximum service for ordinary firearms would be a PS90 which is $600 as there is extensive compliance involved and the parts required are quite costly.

For standard grip wraps, our rates are on average $75 with an additional $15 charge for each feature such as stock pinning/flash hider removal and thread protector installed, however, for a PTR it'd just be $80+Shipping.

Of course. With the RDBs, much of the added cost comes from what muzzle device you'd prefer to have pinned and welded. We have our go-tos that are generally around $30-40 but if the end-user prefers to go higher end, they can quickly get into the hundreds. For the 17" it's $150 + shipping but since there's a much broader variety to meet 30" for the 20", the price largely depends on the end-user's preferences.

Quite awhile ago I was thinking this would make a great business. It can be expanded though. A company that does the complete interface between citizen and state (including filings).

We do Kydex work in-house but will use 3rd party commercial parts when necessary or makes sense. We can of course pre-arrange shipments of privately sourced parts if the end-user already has particular parts they'd want installed. For instance, if it's a pin & weld and they're having a custom brake made.
