Elcan, a Canadian division of Raytheon, developed their scopes utilizing their experience in the medical and scientific realms.

The Elcan Spectre Dual Role (DR) optic comes with a bullet drop compensating reticle, in 5.56mm and 7.62mm variants, allowing easy hits on target with carbines and rifles out to 600 meters... and all the way out to 1200 meters with belt fed weapons.
A locking, easy to activate lever changes the optic from a 4x magnification (its natural state) to a true 1X scope immediately, allowing users to take advantage of the scope's illuminated center red dot, or the illuminated reticle.
This scope's versatility, adaptability, and unmatched optical clarity are why it was chosen as SOCOM's magnified optic of choice. The civilian version comes with an upgraded reticle over the military model, as the military procurement process does not allow for deviation from specifications once they are set... even if they are improvements!
