Finished mine this morning. Quick, easy and looks great. Waiting for my LPK and SSA trigger to show up from Palmetto to show up.
Saying people don't need guns because we have police is like saying we don't need fire extinguishers because we have firemen.

First 7075 batch is scheduled to go to the anodizer this afternoon and start shipping as soon as they're done. These should start shipping on our normal schedule within a couple days.

80% CNC Rentals has just received word that the ATF has just made some sort of determination disallowing CNC rental services. Based on this information, we are no longer taking appointments for CNC rentals.

This does not in anyway affect the legality of finishing a lower at home with a jig. It's 100% legal to do that.

Would we be able to return paper weights if we cannot rent the cnc machine anymore?

We will accept returns for any reason within 14 days of delivery, so yes. You can probably mill elsewhere as other shops are still up and running. There was no official announcement, so some shops may continue offering build parties. Our attorney got a letter from the ATF today saying that they consider this whole CNC rental concept illegal, so that's why we are stopping now. We don't agree with their legal justification for how they could consider build parties illegal, but at the same time don't have the funds to fight it in court.

Locally, Arms Specialty and Tool can finish 80% Arms lowers. It still looks like they are taking appointments: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=737361

Mind posting the letter? Maybe some calgun lawyers can take a peek and see whats up with this communistic bs.

                          Tell me about it

We don't have a copy of the letter as it is not ours specifically. It was written to another company that did build parties, so we were not able to get a copy as it's attorney client privileged.

The source for this is Jason Davis, the lawyer for Calguns, who is also our lawyer.

Sigh. If its a CG lawyer, its probably pretty legit.

That stinks. One more unlawful power grab by the leftist regime. Glad I was able to get a couple machined before the bad news. I also finished one on my jig and it came out great. I would have done the other two 80% lowers on my jig except for being short on time now. Oh well, nobody is going to take my jig away from me and at least I have a couple lowers now ready to build up. Keep us posted if any new info comes out.

If you need a permit to do it, it is not a right, it's a privilege.

Do you have any idea what the reasoning is for this? I understand that you haven't seen the letter and I'm not asking you to reveal anything your lawyer told you, but I was hoping you could at least share the BATF's logic.
