Just to give everyone a heads up, I went to Big 5 today and asked when is the next time they will have the Mossbery 500 combo on sale again and the manager told me it should be within the next week or two.

Mossberg 500 with 18" and 28" bbl. They have them on sale every month or so. I've seen it as low as $189, but I think the normal sale price is $249.

Most likely the 18" and 28" vent ribbed barrel combo Mossberg.
Pretty decent.
It's easy to change out the barrels.
Put the 18" on and you're ready for home defense.
Put the 28" barrel on and you're ready for hunting and shooting clays.
Basically, two shotguns in one.

In my experience you can haggle with the guys at Big 5 on their gun prices. Every time I've done that they've given me the last sale price on it.

The last price I remember is 239.00 for the Mossberg 500 combo.
Great price for a versatile proven shotgun.

just ask... it's that easy.

ask if thats the best price that they can give you.
most people will at least give you 10-15% off of the normal price

I got the "last sale price" on the 870 Security model a few months back at the local Big 5. All I did was ask for it...

I'm sure it helped that I knew there had recently been a sale on the item, but as it turned what I thought was the sale price and the price I asked for was higher than the actual sale price. The Asst Mgr told me what the real sale price was and agreed to sell it for that.

Big 5 doesn't always have the best selection of guns, but they often have good prices on what they carry a lot of... though not on M1 Carbines!!! Also tough to beat their sale prices on 12 ga. field loads.

Yea I missed out on this deal, and came in 2 days after the sale! He told me they go on sale regularly throughout the year and to check back in a few weeks. So I plan on getting this model!!! =)

I saw that is that a good deal? can you shoot clays with this?
