what is the difference between machined and forged lowers?

Machined is when a big chunk of material(think like a brick or block) is whittled down to the desired product.

Forged is pouring the liquid metal into a form and allowed to cool. Kinda like when pouring cement, you build a form to create the shape and where you want the concrete to stay.
