Hmmmmm. I just got a promotion so I might treat myself to this. I have a question: I do not have a CA firearm safety certificate, since I have only bought rifles. Is this considered a pistol or a short-barreled-rifle by CA laws? If its a 'pistol', does it become a rifle if i threw a buttstock on it?

It becomes and AOW/SBR and isn't kosher in Cali, IIRC.
It's really cheap and easy to get you pistol cert. I think it's a $25, 10 mintute test and your G2G.

A stock would make it an SBR, which is prohibited in California. Unstocked AOWs are allowed, but you still need the Handgun Safety Certificate. You can do the HSC with us for $25.
