They kind of boned me. A couple months ago I asked if they had any in stock, and they said they did. So I asked if I could buy 5 over the phone and then DROS them when I got back from Louisiana a month later, and they would not take my order and said to just buy them when I got back. I said that I wanted to pay for 5 now while they had them in stock, but they assured me they would get another batch the next month when I got back.

Of course they never got that batch in and I got boned.

They are a cool shop, but that incident left a real bad taste in my mouth.

What are you talking about? I did not expect them to stay in stock, which is why I tried to pay for 5 right then and there. And lots of shops have no problem with you paying in full and DROSing them at a later date. What would they be waiting for if I had already paid in full? In fact if you look earlier in this thread, they told me I could pay for them and DROS at a later date.

We have 150 lowers on order they have told us they are 3 weeks out. I apologize for the wait.. it has been out of our control.. trust me as fast they sale I wish we could get them faster. Once we get tracking we will post on this thread and start taking deposits over the phone or in the shop.. unfortunately when someone posts put me down for 1 or 2 or however many we can't reserve them. We have a large order on the way and once again I apologize for the wait. Lately it is best to call into the shop, with the range it has drained some of our resources and sometimes it is hard to keep track of every thread.

I agree you got boned. I saw your earlier post and they did agree to DROS it for you when you returned. Busy or not don't make promises you can't keep.

Not to stir a ruckus, but honestly, I know you want to pay for the 5 up front, but really 30 days to hold? that's a bit extreme honestly, and for a business, they have the right to refuse terms like that, because it's just more time and liability for something to go wrong (i.e. user looks, and says "i don't want it" after 30 days of holding, etc.)

Just buy and find your way to dros before your trip or just wait. These guys were more than accommodating when i ordered mine over the phone, and they even waited for me to dros a week later. But they have the right to not accomodate to extreme conditions like that.

I have no beef with island view. They are a cool shop, and they are cool guys there. I will continue to shop there, and maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

But holding 5 lowers for 30 days is not a big deal. When you buy pistols that you can't DROS right away because of the 1 in 30 law, every shop that I have talked to has no problem with guns sitting there paid in full until you can DROS them. In fact I have two waiting to be DROS'd at Valkyrie Arms, just waiting for my 30 days to be up. The last pistol will probably sit in that shop for a total of 100 days before I can legally start my DROS. Big deal.

30 days is not an extreme circumstance. Considering you can DROS something and have up to 30 days to pick it up before you have to re DROS, I don't understand your logic.

What probably happened was they genuinely expected to have their next shipment in when I got back, and assured me I wouldn't have a problem securing them. I asked them if they were positive, and they said yeah I had nothing to worry about. Unfortunately for me they were wrong and there haven't been any for a long time.

I am not devestated. More like let down and bummed. No big deal.

So did you go to there shop on that Monday that you said you would?? If not, then you have no argument! I capitalized on this deal when I had the chance and these guys are first class!! Seriously, for you to say you have a sour taste in your mouth with these guys is just ridiculous! Do you not understand how good of a deal this is!?!? I hope they do not decided to stop offering this deal because of your dumb a** remarks!!
