This Franklin Armory 308 upper is designed to work with the AR15 platform. It is a single shot since the overall length of the 308 round is too long for the magazine. However, the gas system does eject the spent case, and it will hold the bolt open if you have a magazine in your lower. At $750 MSRP, this upper is half the cost of an inexpensive AR10 and is ideal for the target shooter, single shot hunter, and survivalist that wants greater utility from the AR15 platform.

Frigginchi is correct. This AR upper is designed to function on AR15 lowers.

No plans on a side charger right now. Since the gas system is fully functional on this upper, you only need to pull the charging handle to load the first round. After that, you simply depress the carrier release.

Seriously, if you don't like it, go elsewhere. This 308 is not for everyone. For some it adds utility to their already existing AR platform.

...I guess you won't be interested in the AR muzzle loader we're working on.
