What's the point in doing this if its not accepted by California?

I'll go out on a limb and say that the mere fact that you asked the question means that "You Don't have a CA CCW". Utah and Florida permits cover about 30 states. If you travel outside of CA- you'll need these if you want to carry in those particular states.

Even if you don't have a CCW, ask an attorney how much this additional training helps in defending you in a home self defense shooting situation (legal fees). Specifically that you took the time and effort to learn about the legalities regarding the use of deadly force. You'll be pleasantly surprised about the reduction in attorney fees with this additional training.

If you have a firearm in your house that can be used for self defense, you may want to consider a $1 to $2M umbrella policy on top of you home owners insurance. In CA, MOST perps and or their survivors, file civil suits against the victim if a firearm was used.

What I bolded is exactly what my question was based upon. I know the states that the CCW is good in, but if you don't travel outside of California, I was asking what's the point.

I live in a county where they almost never give out CCW's.

This is only useful if you travel or for the other reasons listed above.
