Thompson Submachine Gun Auto Ordnance Kahr Arms California Legal

Hello. I'm new to Calguns. I want a deluxe model, California legal, Kahr Arms, Auto Ordnance, .45 caliber, 16 inch barrel, drum clip fed, NON lightweight model brand new Thompson "Tommy Gun" in SEMI-AUTO only. I live in California and there is a lot of confusion about selling this type of weapon. I know about the "bullet button" and the 10 round limit with any magazine. There are forums where people will sell you their semi auto Tommy Gun with 30 round clips. I was wondering if anyone knows or owns a gun store anywhere in California that has in stock a California legal Tommy Gun. I call and it's always "We can order one." That may take MONTHS. I'd like to pay in full for the Tommy Gun and wait my eleven days. Anyone? Thank you.

First of all: Welcome to Calguns!
Second: You can't legally own "30 round clips" in California; unless you owned them prior to the ban in 2000.
Thirdly: I know that Straightline Tactical in Anaheim has some in stock. I go back this Saturday to pick up a rifle, I could let you know how much they're asking for them.

You also might want to post this in the "Want to Buy" section. This really isn't the appropriate section for your post.

      Good luck!

        Sorry and Thank You But

I tend to ramble on but I was just saying in certain forums there are people who will sell you their semi-auto no bullet button attached Tommy with 30 to 100 round drum clips even if you live in California. I don't know why I said that except just to throw something into the mix on how disorganized the whole Tommy gun in California thing is. Straightline Tactical has no Tommy guns in stock. Well at least that's what their website indicates. Thanks for the offer and the tip. I'd fly down their right now if they did. I wish I would have bought one when they were falling out of the skies. Same thing goes for the M1 Garand that was copied by Springfield Armory, I do believe.

Norse Armory usually has a Thompson clone in stock.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

I saw 2 on their wall when I was there a week ago. But good luck on your hunt. Maybe try PRK Arms in Fresno (since you mentioned "flying down here").

Another suggestion would be purchase the gun you want off lets say budsgunshop.com and then have it transferred to an out-of-state FFL such as Henderson Defense etc. Have them californicate the weapon, then have it sent to the closest willing FFL to you.

I could be wrong, but I think Golden State Tactical has one on their wall.

Bear Mountain Sports in Bakersfield has sold plenty of those. You could give
them a call, they might have one hanging in the store.

Have wanted a Thompson, but just cant get used to the idea of maglocking them. Anyone know if an AOW (long barrel without the buttstock) would be exempt from the Caliban AW laws?
