Why no sales to Los Angeles?
As well as the other listed Ca. counties?Originally Posted by Sic Boy

Looks like they have the same ammo shipping policies as the Sportsmansguide... If you live in Los Angeles County, you are probably ok to purchase but they will not sell directly to the City of Los Angeles
Oh well, they'll lose out on some busine$$

Los Angeles city and Yolo and Sacramento counties are out for direct shipping of ammo. Glad I live in the suburbs and not in the sanctuary city of Antonio Villagotraitor. I made the mistake once of buying ammo at the LAPD academy and they had to take my license info down on a ledger... now it's going to be state law. Gotta love it!I like guns

BS asking for ID.. no one wants to jump through hoops when other websites don't ask for it.Internetz are serious business.

It's illegal to ship ammunition to LA as far as I am aware. If you can provide info showing me otherwise, I would be willing to change the policy.
As far as the ID thing, not trying to make anyone jump through hoops, it's simply a CYA thing. We are still a pretty small operation and don't have millions of dollars of liability insurance like Cabela's and Bass Pro and places like that. I've lost a few sales over this policy but one mistake selling to someone underage can cost me my business, so it's not worth the risk... I have actually gotten quite a lot of business by advertising on this forum, it's OK if you don't want to order... :-)

You don't have to go that far away. It says that they won't ship to the city of Los Angeles. That doesn't mean they won't ship to Los Angeles county. Ship it to Santa Monica or Culver City or Pasadena or whatever is closeby, but not in "Los Angeles".
I have ammo shipped to Redondo Beach (which is in Los Angeles county), and I've never had a problem.Comment

I don't have an issue with providing my I.D. for the reasons he stated that is just smart business but.....
"Sorry, but at this time we WILL NOT ship firearms to California!"
This did it for me; not thanks and good luck.Comment

CYA? How do you know who is sending the ID copy? How can you cover your *** when my 16 year old can copy my ID fax it to you and have ammo inbound? It's illegal to ship ammunition to LA as far as I am aware. If you can provide info showing me otherwise, I would be willing to change the policy.
