Congrats and best of luck...
A few questions:
(1.) Will these rounds be loaded to NATO 5.56 pressures/velocities, or just those for SAAMI 223?
(2.) As for the 62gr bullet composition: is it M855 w/steel penetrator, or just a conventional FMJ bullet architecture? (Actually, I'd be hoping for the latter, for better accuracy.)
I am not trying to "dis" you but I will say $375 for 1K rounds is a bit more than a high price, at least for 55gr FMJ ammo. 1K rounds of Fed AE and Win white box can be had for $285-$295 area...

Whoa gentlemen, lets give this fellow a chance... any new source of ammo is a good thing and pricing will obviously find its own level in time. Business is business.Comment

$375 is just too high from a new, totally unknown ammo company.
You can get Black Hills Red Box for that.
To say nothing of other proven vendors such as PMC, FED, REM and WIN that are about $300/1k.
Nonetheless, welcome to the market, we can always use more ammo vendors! Good luck with your venture.Last edited by luvtolean; 05-31-2007, 3:47 PM.Comment

Actually when I first saw this post I thought it was somebodys idea of a joke.
"Crooked river ammo" and taking pre-orders.... Oh well, at least he's offering samples... trouble is to be certain, you need a sample of a batch run off of the machinery etc.that will be used in production otherwise youre just getting load runs from an unknown source. Verification and authenticity will of course be the order of the day here. No disrespect meant but as the man said... trust but verify.I wouldnt want to get caught up in a Nigerian ammo scheme. Ouch.. I thought I was the one who said lets give this guy a chance... OK, lets see some product.Last edited by bridgeport; 05-31-2007, 5:50 PM.Comment

I would very much like to support a company making ammo in California (if that's the case), but the product has to be fairly competitive in price and performance. If you're basically offering Am Eagle (fed bullets, fed brass) but it's ~25% more expensive, I'd find the purchase pretty hard to justify. With Oden on our side.Comment

Crooked River Ammo.
Gents,
The best source for your .223 and .308 needs is Ammo Brothers, Darren and Dustin are licenced ammo manufacturers. They are now producing the forementioned calibers for significantly less than this operation is posting. I pay $275-280 for 1k of the 62gr SS109. Their number is 562-865-3980. Thanks, USMCM16A2.Comment

They are producing SS109? This thread is about in house manufactured ammo. Lets talk about their AMMO. I was at the range with my uncle and he was shooting some of their 40 S+W reloads in his H+K, luckily I noticed that his gun sounded strange after a shot. We took a look and the bullet had not exited the barrel. No powder charge.Last edited by tankerman; 06-01-2007, 7:43 AM.Comment
