Spotting Scope Bench Stand
Hello fellow calgunners. We recently started shooting rifles for the first time and needed a stand for our spotting scope. My father made one of these scope stands for me and it worked so well we thought some other people might need something like this.
The advertisement below we put together to show how we are using it at the YSA range in Davis. It is a really handy little stand that I can leave attached to the scope even with the cover on and tote it back and forth to the range.
We are in Sacramento and my father makes these in his garage in Galt. He is a fine craftsman and these are well made. The elevation adjusting screws allow the stand to be leveled on uneven surfaces and the stand can be reversed to allow for upward or downward elevation as needed. The scope base is cork which holds the scope firmly and won't damage it.

The additional photos below show how the stand can be used in either direction to achieve a higher or lower elevation as needed for your use. The elevation adjusting screws have wing nuts to tighten them in place and the screw for mounting the scope is also a wing style thumb screw underneath. The design is simple and practical. We have also added rubber end caps to the bottom of the screws (not shown in all pictures) where they sit on the bench for added stability.
