NEW Daniel Defense EZ Carbine Quad Rail - $150

Just a heads up, Daniel Defense released yet another rail.

It's not a free-float system, but it's very well priced.

When compared to other carbine 2 pc drop in rails, the DD EZ Car 7.0 rail does it just as good, if not better, and all at about the same price as the competition.

I want one but I have a mid length AR. Hopefully they come out with a 'DD EZ Mid 9.0 rail.' I shot them an email and they said if the carbine rails do well, they will probably make one for the mid length as well.

Seems like a no brainer for guys that don't know/want to do any smithing on their guns to put a FF rail on(not saying this is FF). This goes on just like a Magpul Moe handguard. Easy Breezy!

That being said for a few more dollars you can get the Daniel Defense 12 FSP rail.

Anybody tried one of these out yet? The price is very attractive.

Would a free-float handguard (like the Omega rail) make a significant difference on a carbine anyway? I've read lots of posts about how great the fit and finish is on the more expensive rails, but I haven't seen [m]any posts claiming that their groups improved.
