Ok, noob question: can someone explain in a nutshell what exactly the NRA membership does for you?

I've heard of them, but unsure what the benefits are....

If it's as simple as reading the webpage, I'll be happy to do it. But just thought I'd ask if there's something I'm missing here...

Life members and above get to vote for board members.

The lady on the phone told me they do give credit towards the $300 if you recently renewed your membership, but my last annual renewal was too old. I did not ask how recent the payment had to be because I was just pleased to get this deal, so the $35 that I paid a while ago wasn't even a factor. I should have asked her, just so I could post it to the thread. So, if what the lady told me is correct, it looks like you got an automatic 4 months of credit for your recent EPL payments - making the conversion to LM only $200. That's awesome!

I thought $300 would be the way to go. My dad is a life member. After giving her his number the lady on the phone told me it would be $200!!!!

Thanks to my relative Baja Traveler, I am now a member. I called 888-564-6672 ext.3. They then transferred me to a Life specialist, who verified the membership number and name of my relative.

I've been busy paying my #2 son's junior membership quarterly fees to bring his membership up to life. He's in the Corps now and I want to pay it off before he comes back from his first deployment. as a father I was greatful it is a MEU this July. I want him to see 20 before he goes to the sandbox
