Just saw these at J&G, Sterling pistol in 7.62x25. Somebody comes up with a maglock and some single shot Sten mags....What you guys think?

Man that looks pretty cool....None of my posts are serious or real, nothing I post is legal advice.

I'm guessing this is one of the guns that some of the Star Wars blasters were based on, because I thought of stormtroopers (SciFi, not Nazi) as soon as I saw them.

Looks to me like barrel length might also be an issue. Remember the barrels on a single shot exempt must be at least 6"
ETA: Per the J&G ad, it says the barrel length is 4.5" Perhaps the barrel could be threaded for an AK hider/brake (it would be easiest as its already a .30)
I would love one of these as well.Last edited by Rukus; 11-29-2009, 3:54 PM.MY AR Profile #1Comment

i am in! As long as the price is better than what they are asking! Sems a bit much for this firearm.Comment

The mags could be tack welded just like what was done for the Draco's to get in CA. The biggest issue I see is the mag release, anyone know how it works on these guys? Some quick research leads me to believe the mag release is the large "screw" looking button on the magwell.MY AR Profile #1Comment

The screw looking button was what I was thinking, too. If the mag release is the screw looking button, makes me think there is an easy way to fix it! Good catch on the 4.5" barrel length, I forgot about that, for single shot exemption. With a few mods and a decent price, I think this would be a sweet addition to the CA legal arsenal!Comment

Im thinking that the maybe a replacement mag release "screw" could be machined down so that the head of the screw is below the surrounding metal much like a bullet button would work.

are these ammo non magnetic easy to find?Comment

Can't they just make a normal modern pistol in the 7.62x25? I have 2 9mm Sten hicaps sitting around that I might be able to modify to fit this pistol and I still wouldn't buy this tacky thing.Comment
