Big 5 Garand - Advice needed

Before I kill myself fighting the crowd at Big 5 tomorrow, could some of you who with knowledge compare the deal on the Garand at big 5 on special tomorrow for $599 to a Service Grade gun from the CMP. I suspect that the service grade CMP rifle is a better deal in terms of being in better shape overall, and more of a sure thing. I am not concerned with the import markings or who made the rifle, I want a rifle in good shape, so I can go shoot it.
Thanks in advance for your expertise...

BTW if you are in the market for a Remington 870 and thinking of hitting big-5 tomorrow...they are $40 cheaper at Sports authority.

Some say that he once mooned two prostitutes just for a round of drinks, but wasn't surprised by the reply......They call him, the Hutch
Some say that he rode a dirtbike 7k miles across the country and that he once applied Bengay to his own testicles for a mere $50............They call him, the Hutch -Top Gear

I don't think I would feel at all comfortable shooting any big 5 garand. I have seen 4 different ones and all of them leave me with a sense of relief that I'm know better than to get it and that I got a CMP M1. Don't cut corners on such an amazing piece of history. CMP service grade $617.00 Big 5 junker $599.00.

Its no contest. CMP gun = excellent piece of history, Big 5 = less than rack grade. Even at the Big 5 sale price, you are losing.

Been wanting an M1 Carbine from CMP but I have not wanted to go through the hassle of being a member.
