As for kits in the country, Century has THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of kits in reserve (trust me... I've tried to get at them) and if anybody has the $$$ to do this deal up front, they do.

If they don't know about these rifles (unlikely) they may be priced to high to make it worth the effort

        thanks,

        I agree.

No, it wouldn't be worth it for Century to invest $150/kit... but for those looking for parts kits and seeing them online for $300+, $150 is a pretty good deal.... to the point that someone with $15k could buy 100 of them and turn 90 of them on Gunbroker for $200-$250 each to net as much as $7500 and still have 10 kits for personal consumption.
Actually less than $20 is what Century paid for all those "G" kits and that included all the kit (bayo's, pouches, webbing, cleaning supplies, magazines, etc). The numbers have been discussed before on different forums.

I don't know how long the people involved in this deal have been importing firearms but there used to be a group of importers that would pull their finances together and do this on a somewhat regular basis. When they did do it (and were successful), the number of firearms that are currently being discussed wasn't nearly that amount. Do you guys remember when Ohio Rapid Fire used to retail brand new Bulgarian AK-74 kits with four mags, pouches, sling, bayonet cleaning kit, mag loader and stripper clips for $150? Dealer pricing was even better than that.

One other thing that to think about is transportation. Even Century has a hard time bringing in the kits because of NATO and UN accords. Most countries will not allow ships sailing their flag to transport firearms because of the UN pushing to ban small arms proliferation. The shipping companies that can transport arms know this and charge a premium for their cargo.

          thanks,
          Ron

            Wow!

I'm hoping that with Russia retiring the AK platform that maybe we'll be seeing some cheaper kits in the coming years, but they'll likely sell them to their allies.
