Ammo in Stock!! The Shootist, Murietta, Ca

Stopped by to check up on them.

They had every caliber in stock. Prices were not gouged either. Some CGer's are selling ammo for more.

They had large stocks of 22, 9, 40, 45, 380, 32, 44, etc.....all rifle cals. in stock. The shelves were over flowing and bowing in the center from the weight.

If your in need, they have it. Still cheaper to mail order, but without the B/O list or waiting on ground shipping.

They had all kinds of .45. I don't know. I wasn't shopping for that Cal. If it's any reference, the golden saber .22 box was 7.95. Winch. X HP high Vel. was 8.95.

Prices seemed reasonable for a shop. Normally they are a bit high but maybe now that they have plenty of stock and the rush is over they have come closer to reality.

sounds very reasonable. i hope they don't have a limit so it's worth the far drive.

I was there yesterday looking for some 7.62x54 milsurp, but all they had were 2 spam cans for 220 ea. Behind the counter they had some wnchester for 25 and norma for 50.00. I couldn't believe they sell for that much!!!!

On a side note. I was looking at some of the AR15s in 22, and I asked if they have them in any other caliber and the guy said no, that any other caliber is illegal. I understand the whole OLL and BB thing. But I didn't want to get into an argument due to the fact that I am not completely familiar with the AW laws and how ,they, at the store view them. What I am trying to ask is, is it worth bying a AR15 in 22 cal? Whats the point? To have a look alike? a pretend AR? I was also kinda startled to his reaction and saying owning any other caliber is illegal.

              Any comments?

                1. He's wrong.

                2. .22lr is cheap and fun to shoot. There are many different reasons to own one. Some people have 5.56 AR-15s, and also a .22lr AR or a .22lr AR style rifle (Colt M4, S&W, etc) to simulate training with much cheaper ammo.

Did you notice their prices/supply of handgun ammo? Just curious how much they are charging for 9mm, .40, etc.

Typical retail gun shop prices. Not wal-mart cheap but not crazy gunbroker prices either. I look elsewhere before I head to them. I would say the prices are about the same you would pay at Big 5.

I just called and The shootist is selling their 9mm ammo for about 22.95, and Faith Armory is selling theirs for 10.95! so You do the math.... Hope this helps

Guy sounds out of the loop. I like to support local "pro" black rifle shops and FFLs.

Depends on what kind? Were you talking defense ammo or plinkin rounds? I didn't find their prices too off the mark. $23 bones for plinkin is absurd though.

I was there right before they closed and someone had stopped by earlier and picked up the cheap stuff. All they had left was some ruger for 23.00
