    GUN SAFE DEALS

    Hey folks,

I was just thinking about something.

I am a locksmith and safe technician here in the San Francisco Bay Area. (I run my own business). And it just dawned on me...why don't I help some of yall out?

So here's the deal: If yall are looking for a specific AMSEC safe (American Security), contact me with the model number, and the price you found it at - and I will see if I can get it cheaper for you.

    I SPECIFICALLY need:

    Model number of the safe
Specify if you want a combination lock, or a push-button electronic lock
    Best price you found
    Your zip code

Since it will be a business thing for me (I have to supply you with a receipt), you will need to pay the taxes on it, as well as the shipping. (Which is why I need your zip code to calculate the total cost). I can usually get it drop-shipped to your door for a pretty good price. My distributor has warehouses throughout the United States, but their CA warehouse is in Sacramento. (So Sac folks will have better drop-shipped prices).

Please be specific on my above requirements, as I do not have the time to sit here and look up all the specific models for you, and then try to figure-out what you were trying to convey to me.

YOU do the ground work, and I'll see what I can do!

If yall are nearby, and you need safe work, your safe combination changed, you cannot open your safe, blah blah blah...drop me a line and I will give Calgunners a good deal.

I also deal in other manufacturers safes, but I am specifically AMSEC certified.

You can contact me with your safe queries via PM, or drop me a direct line. I am a night owl (it's a military thing), so you can call me as late as 0100 every morning...or 24-hours if it's an locksmithing emergency.

PS: Every once in a while I come across older safes, which I penetrate, restore into good working order, and flip over at "give away" prices. I've accidently met a few Calgunner's already in this manner. (They found me selling them on Craig's List). But I'll try posting a few of the larger safes here from now on.

      Hey folks,

I just thought about something else.

I bet SOME OF YALL have come across large gun safes that the owner did not want because they had lost the combination. In the past, I have had folks give me their safes - either because they didn't have the combination, of because they just wanted it off their property. (One man's garbage is another man's treasure).

If you do come across something like that, take a picture of the safe and send it to me.

I will let you know if penetrating it, and restoring it at a reasonable cost, is a viable option. Because if it is, then it may be worth your time to take it. You never know...you may have stumbled upon the deal of the century.

But let me also state...I will not penetrate any safe that you cannot prove belongs to you. And there is NO WAY that you are going to bring an unknown safe to my property to be penetrated. I am a security professional, and everything will be done legally, and by the book.

Just needed to make that clear.

      Anyhoo...happy hunting, Calgunners.

      In Christ: Raymond

          Thanks for the plug, "Fredreeco-san".

Thanks for the vests also...they were fun!!

I actually gave the vest and mushroomed bullets to Dimitri, at City Arms in Pacifica, to display.

            Well folks,

I just wanted to say, "Thanks for all your interest".

It seems that everyone is interested in the Amsec BF and TF-series safes.

I can get great deals on these safes, so I am glad to help.

I appreciate all the responses, and I have sent a bunch of yall PM's regarding "out-the-door" prices for the specific safes you inquired about.

            Glad I could help.

And in closing, please understand that this is not a 100% business venture. I am making a VERY SMALL profit compared to what I usually sell these safes to "cold call" customers for.

These are deal from a die-hard shooter, giving back to his shooting community...period!!

No business advertising on this shooters forum from me. Just drop me a PM with the info I need (see first post), and I will see what I can do for you.

You have nothing to lose if you are in the market for a safe!!!

                Thanks, Mario.

Those are some of my home office companions.

Below are a few pictures of them. The last picture is a wooden plaque I made a friend of mine who also dabbles in tarantuals. (Made with my scroll saw).

About the safes: just drop me a PM or a land line. I need to check with my distributor on the price of the safe, and the drop ship charges (which will be based on your zip code), and I will get back to you.

                In Christ: Raymond

PS: When you are looking at the wooden plaque, squint your eyes. You will see the tarantual better.

Poor worms... Thanks for the service Raymond, hopefully I can buy enough guns to warrant another safe in the near future.

                    Whew!

Some of hose internet prices are pretty low. Sometimes lower than "I" can get them with my dealership prices!

But then again, look around and break everything down - shipping and all.

I had one person that wanted a BF6030 safe shipped to Texas. I got him a really good deal, but then it was going to cost him $342.00 to ship it there. (Ouch)!

I don't set the shipping prices. I just contact my distributor, tell them where it's going, and they tell me how much it will cost - based on how far the delivery point is from their nearest warehouse, and the weight of the safe.

In this case, that beasty BF6030 is almost a 1000 pound beast, that takes a larger truck with a tail lift rated for that weight.

On the other hand, I can get an Amsec TF6030 or the TF5924 to the Oakland area for a drop-ship charge of around $80.00 to $110 dollars. (The closer you are to the warehouse, the cheaper it is).

One person who lived in Oakland asked about an Amsec TF5924 safe. I can get one delivered to the Oakland area for a total of $930.00 - shipping, taxes, and all. (Out dee door).

Ultimately, look around for the "bottom line". (Out the door price - tax, shipping and all). Like I said, I will do what I can. I am competing with internet prices, which I am not set-up to do...but I am doing for yall anyways.

Look around, and figure-out ALL the costs.

I may be able to get you a good deal...and I may not.

                    But I'll try!

I'm looking into getting a safe. Not looking to spend too much. At lowes they have a Centurion Safe that is fire resistant. Not a very big one, 8 cubic ft of usable space, overall 12cu ft. $397.00 plus tax. Here's a link to the norcal liberty safe. This is same safe i'm looking to get but the smaller one. They don't list the 12cu ft version. Centurion safe

Is there something similar that you can get, maybe something a little bigger, but not much bigger in price?
Let me know asap cause i plan on buying a safe with in 2 days. Thanks. Good luck on your pof build. I hope when I get mine I don't have the same problems as others. That would really suck for my first build.

                        TVFreakArms,

I don't know anything about those safes, so I cannot make a comment.

But I can tell you this...you get what you pay for.

Amsec has been around a long time. They have spent a lot of money on the technology needed to make a good burglery/fire safe, and they build very decent stuff in the "mid range" categories. (As well as the higher end stuff, if your pockets are deep enough).

If you want a decent safe, and you are on a budget, I have no qualms with a Century safe, a Sentry safe, or even a Stack-On safe. They are great - cheap - safes to keep kids and "smash-and-grabbers" out of your toys.

But if you want to step-up to a little better quality, look around and you will see the difference in wall thickness, door thickness, bolt thickness, insulating materials...and most importantly, the materials used.

I do not know what you are looking for, But I can help to "edu-ma-cate" you on what is available to the customer, and why.

Happy hunting, and shoot with a purpose!

What can you get for a decent safe that is budget friendly? Something in the price range of $400 to $700.

                            TVFreakArms,

how about if we do it ths way...

CLICK HERE, and go to the Amsec website.

Look at the "TF-Series" safes, and see what interests you.

Then send me the model, and your zip code, and we can go from there.

The "TF-Series" safes are in your price range, and come in different sizes. (I have no idea what you want to store in the safe, what you require in a safe, how large of a safe you need, or where it will be mounted).

I am assuming you are in Sacramento - and my distributor has a warehouse in Sacramento. So the shipping will be pretty good for you.

I can get you a TF5517, w/combinatin lock, for $550.00. Add a 9.5% tax ($52.25), and the drop ship fee (I gotta check on that, but I'm guessing $60.00 to $70.00), and that's your "Out-dee-Door" price.

                            Approximately $673.00.

Let me know if you are interested, and I will check with my distributor on Monday. (I do not want to harrass them for nothing).

                            Have a great weekend.

Raymond: Thank you for providing this to the community. Your help is invaluable.

Seeing as you're a locksmith and all, I have a question. It seems there are two camps when it comes to buying safes. The first says, "Buy what you can afford because it's a life-long investment." While the second camp says "Buy a relatively cheap safe because any good criminal will get in anyways."

Which camp do you subscribe to? Is the "crooks will get it anyways" just FUD? I'm willing to spend some bucks on a safe, but I'm starting to question the validity of dropping $2k on one of the bulletproof ones.

                              Thanks in advance!
