If you want an optic but want to pair it with a better mount or a QD option, go with the Crossfire. If you prefer a near ubiquitous power source like AA batteries, the SPARC AR is a great choice with a built in mount that is adjustable for either absolute or lower 1/3 co-witness. Neither one is a bad choice for a training gun, as a back up red dot, or on a plinker.
