    Any interest in semi-auto MG-42'?

    Hi Folks,

I saw something posted about semi-auto MG-42's in another thread and didn't even think about you guys wanting them.

Is there any interest in the Century M-53 (semi-auto MG42)? I will include 10-round belts for them if you guys are interested. The price is on the HIGH side...$2250

    thanks,
    Ron

I'd be interested in one for $2250 except I think that's on the low side. Everyone I've seen is pushing $3K.

$2250? I would love one but am not sure I can afford that. If you did a run of those I'd sure as heck try my hardest to afford one

Just curious about this because I have some folks very interested in California-legal, semi-auto MG42's.

If I supplied the weapon with 10-link belts, the pistol grip in place AND a muzzle brake instead of a flash hider, would this then be legal under the rules written for California?

I am going to cross-post this question because I want to make sure that the two threads discussing this are seen by the folks who are interested.

              thanks,

Hey Ron, If it's retaining the pistol grip, I don't think it matters if it's a muzzle brake or flash hider as The pistol grip already constitutes and "evil item" and a muzzle brake does nothing to negate that. The thing that's stumping me is where the belt-fed devices fall on the list.

I hate to do it, but I might post this on 2nd Amendment Forum to see if it catches the eyes and words of those more knowledgeable.

I'd love this if it was more affordable. How is the Century work quality wise? I see that Florida gun works has the MG 42 parts kits available.

from the belt fed shoots i think most people just cut the pistol grip down and mount it to a tripod

Put me down as interested if legally configurable. Especially in cheap 8mm ammo.

That would be one huge firearm to own and expensive....

Bwiese chimed in my other post in 2nd amendment. Belt fed counts as a detachable mag (no tool needed to remove the "ammunition feeding device") and it looks like the only way it'll work is 10 rd belt (assuming you didn't have any prior to 2000), muzzle brake, and modified pistol grip (mmg style). Not sure it has any other evil features...other than being bad ***

At some point don't we have to ask "what is the point?" W/o the pistol grip it won't look or fire like the MG42 and with a mere ten round belt (assuming you can make such a thing and get around the detachable feeding device issue) you have a very expensive ten shot "something"

Bad enough we have to shoot our OLL's with 10 rds, but buying (a very expensive) weapon designed to be fired f/a with hundred plus round belts with ten rounds semi just seems to miss the point for me.
