Not to jack the thread or anything, why dont those Walmart people ever
look at these threads? instead they rather waste gas driving to each
    Walmart, go figure?

Anyways, great deal get it while you can.

I was wondering, why is it that wally world sells hangun ammo so cheap, but the rifle stuff is just regular priced?

Not a bad deal at all in today's times. I got mine just a tad cheaper but heck, I had to wait and these are in stock. You hear that all ya Walmart whiners!?!

Maybe the whiners don't have internet? Or they're lines are monitored by the socialist police??? LOL

It is not that cheap compared to gun shows, or online. Or at least, not the "cheapest."

Huh? You're saying you can find handgun ammo online or gun shows cheaper than walmart? Let me know where I can find 9mm for under 10 a box!

I'm referring to if you buy in bulk, like 1000 rounds. Not Wally World 100 WWB amounts. For example, I bought 1000 rounds at SF/Cow Palace gun who for $184 (tax included) so ~.18c/rd (rounded down). I paid for $11.87 a few months ago for 50 rds of WWB at Wally World. That's ~ .24c/rd. If you buy the bulk 100rd WWB, it's $21.62 a box, ~ .22c rd.

You telling me Wally World has best prices. Granted... you factor in entrance fee if you're at a show, and gas prices if you're only doing this trip. I didn't do that (gas) because I had to make a trip to SF anyway. I've not bought 9mm online (not that I recall I think), but it's comparable. The only, and ONLY ammo that Walmart even beats online is the Federal 550 .22LR box (or Winchester HV ones too). Those ones, I cannot find comparable/cheaper prices online.

The only time Walmart works for the prices you pay for is when you're not buying bulk. Maybe a box here, a box there. And see what that does to people who shop that way. Sorry, these days, you have to buy a lot so you're not in Wally World all the time and crossing your fingers to find ammo, even with their 6 box limit. So per box of your 50 rd, yeah, they're cheapest. But are they really cheapest if you're buying in bulk? Probably not. probably comparing apples to oranges on that part, but that's what I mean not your 'cheapest' if you're referring to per round.

What brand was the stuff you bought at the gun show?
If it was reloaded Miwall crap it's not really a fair comparison.

And you're saying Winchester WWB is? LOL

I've used both. Can't tell the difference. But it might be my lack of experience and expertise. :P

Well, I can say with 99% certainty you will not find cheaper 9mm online than walmart, buying bulk or not.. What about Blazer? That comes to about 9.75 a box with tax, or 195 per 1000 rounds. Where can I get 9mm online for that price? I really don't think you can, but I'd love to be proved wrong. Even if it isn't it stock, who normally carries 9mm that can beat that price after shipping is figured in? I find it hard to believe anyone online could beat walmarts WWB 9mm either, which comes to like 220 per 1000.

You paid 184 for a 1k reloads at a gun show. How much was enterance fee? did you pay to park(I hear some places charge parking)? That probably puts you close to 195.. ok, so maybe the gun show is cheaper by a tad, but not a lot.

Even .40 and .45 are very cheap at walmart.. maybe not the cheapest, I don't know. Still a good deal. So my initial question stands, why is walmarts handgun ammo so cheap, but there rifle ammo is just regular priced, or more than online?

Why dont you write a letter to Wally world handgun ammo buyer and let's see what they say.

Well, I've seen way more reports on quality issues with Miwall than with WWB and I'm guessing that there are more WWB rounds fired / year in the US than Miwall, so I just play the numbers

cjseanp1, you didn't fully qualify your pricing comparison. you said cheapest. i said no. you argue for WWB, i argue for 9mm in general. i'll give that it's apples to oranges comparison about WWB vs. reloads, but the bottom line is still price, which was the point of your post. if you wanted to fully qualify it to WWB, then you win. WWB is the lowest for WWB. sportsmanguide has it for $15/50rd box. but again, this was all based on price. it's almost like saying, who has the cheapest compact car around, which stating brand, condition, etc.

now for your question on .223, WWB is not lowest but it's actually not bad. i pay .37c a round for reloads from sportsmanguide. vs. .43c/rd for walmart federal ones. can you find it cheaper? as Federal in the same packaging/type, probably not. i think we all know why walmart would have the "best" price for this. Just like any other products they have in the store, and all the news/articles about how walmart does business.

I don't see the Federal bulk 100rd box on a typical price search side some have provided here

i don't see it at cabellas or sportsmanguide (just as example). so how would you compare it then?
