ETA: 4/22/09
The order is shipped. Expect them at your FFLs at the end of the week/beginning of next week!
I'm out and about right now, so I don't have my nice little spreadsheet with all the user-names organized, so I'll send out PMs when I get home.
ETA: 4/14/09
The order has been received by the manufacturer and everything is rolling along smoothly. I will update when the lowers are shipping out to the individual FFLs.
ETA: 4/11/09
After many delays, the order has been sent out. It was sent Express, so it should be received early next week. I will call the manufacturer when the tracking information shows that it has been received to get an ETA for when the lowers ship out. When I spoke to them last week they had them in stock, so it should be soon.
If you haven't gotten me FFL info, please do so soon.
Thank you all for being so patient with the status of the order.
ETA: 4/9/09
If it's not one thing it's another. Still waiting for funds. I made a stupid exception that's costing 2 more days on top of the 3 that have already passed. The order goes out Saturday whether the money is here or not. I'm pulling my hair out playing this f*** game. I'm sure some of you feel the same way.
ETA: 4/6/09
Today was the deadline set for payments to be received so the order could be sent this afternoon. There were a few people who, out of necessity, withdrew.
Unfortunately one confirmed payment is late. Prior arrangements were made in this case as there were circumstances out of that individual's control. Their payment should be arriving tomorrow. The order will be held off until it arrives.
There was one post-office mishap with a money order MIA, but no response from the sender about the status of a stop-payment or new money order. This was mostly my fault as he was one of the first people to PM me that the payment was sent, and I didn't catch that it was taking too long to arrive. I apologize for my oversight. If he gets back to me today with arrangements for expedited payment, the order will be held further.
Thank you all for stepping up to make sure your payments were received on time. It is a credit to you.
And thank you for your patience with these delays.
-Jeff
ETA: 4/4/09
This group buy is now closed. Unless special arrangements were previously made to make payment, it is too late to be included in the order.
For those who have sent payment, or are doing so now, the order may be held up a day or so due to foul ups from the post office. I will know where we are at when the mail arrives on Monday.
ETA: 3/30/09
It looks like we have the numbers to put the order in for sure. The only way the order will not be sent in will be if a number of committed parties flake out or payments are not sent on time.
See Post #70 for more info: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...5&postcount=70
IF YOU CANNOT SEND THE PAYMENT BY WEDNESDAY APRIL 1st, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
If payments are mailed on Thursday or Friday, I ask that they be sent with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION and a PM with the TRACKING NUMBER sent to me. PAYMENTS MAILED AFTER FRIDAY WILL LIKELY ARRIVE TOO LATE TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE ORDER AND WILL BE RETURNED IF NOT RECEIVED ON MONDAY. I will only hold the order for payments mailed on Friday or before, with delivery confirmation/tracking number PMed to me.
I don't want to drag this out. There are plenty of group buys out there that will take months to complete. The lowers from this order should be arriving at your FFLs within 3 weeks or less of today.
Thank you to everyone who has confirmed their order and sent payment to date!
ETA: 3/22/09
After all the going back and forth the other day about markings, quantity, and other details, I was able to get the price down a little bit more if we can get to 100 lowers. The price will be $125 with the same $10 flat rate shipping. At that price point, I think we could get 200 ordered.
At this price point there will be no custom requests for serial numbers, pistol markings, or caliber. From what I understand they do both ".223/5.56" markings, and "Multi" markings for caliber. We will get whatever they send us. I will also not be able to combine shipping to same FFLs. It will be a flat $10 shipping charge per order. If you want to save on shipping, get a couple more lowers.
Due to the larger quantities needed, I will be extending the deadline two weeks. Hopefully we will have enough interest to end the buy-in on April 6. This should give people enough time to get their paychecks on the 1st and figure out how many they are able to budget for.
ETA: 3/19/09
This is now happening. To make things the least complicated, only US Postal Money Orders will be accepted, PM me with the following information:
-Real Name
-Contact Phone Number
-Number of Lowers (200 available, 100 minimum needed)
-FFL you would like them to be sent to.
I will return the PM with an address for the money order to be sent to.
If I don't have25 100 spoken for by April 5 I will cancel the group buy and return the money orders. If we have enough lowers spoken for and money orders in by that time, I will send out the money orders on 4/6 (Monday) to the manufacturer.
Just putting it out there that this may happen in the near future. If we can get 25+ people, then the price I was quoted would be $150 per lowerIf we get to 100 receivers on the order, the price will be $125 each with a flat rate of just $10 shipping for any number of lowers. That doesn't sound right to me, just $10 for any number, but the people I talked to said it over and over. I am pretty sure that this will apply to any FFL that will take them, not just one in one geographic area like the KD group buys that have happened.
These lowers are from a small shop called Tactical Machining, but apparently they are nicer than the Territorial Gunsmithing SLR lowers (which I have a few of, and they are nice), and much nicer than the KD lowers that have had problems with being out of spec in some areas.
This is all then info I have, and I'm sure I have the same questions as you, so stand by for details. I will be hitting the phones hard over the next few days to flesh out the specifics.
Hopefully this works out. For $160 shipped per lower or less, it would be cheap insurance to have a few laying around.
ETA: Got some details and pics.

The new Tactical Machining CNC manufactured lower receiver for AR15 type rifles. These start as a true 7075 forging from the leading forge in the USA for the strongest lower you can buy. The contour is fully machined on a brand new cnc machining center, leaving no flash. The magazine well is cut on a high end precision wire EDM machine. The receiver is carefully checked then sandblasted to a nice satin finish before being anodized. The anodizing is mil spec hard coat and is a true black. These are the best finished receivers made from forgings on the market. They are stronger than billet or castings sold by others. The manufacturer of this receiver stands behind it for life, with a lifetime warranty
