Just wanted to share my results and maybe you can share yours. I am waiting to shoot my 338 edge with 300gr OTM hybrids at distance, which I will also point and see how much BC increase I get.
So, that being said, with my 7mm 180gr hybrids, the G7 BC is 0.345. When pointing them only, no meplat trim, with a Whidden pointing die, I got a confirmed 0.375 G7 BC numbers; this is about 8% BC increase. This also held true for my 800 and 900 yard dope. My zero was at 100 yards. I am running the bullet at 2890 fps in a 284 Shehane with H4831SC.
So, I had a near full MOA less drop at 1K with the pointing.
If I use this .375 BC, then I am still over 1,100 fps at 1760 yards
What results do you get with your bullets? I will post more results once I do testing with my 338 edge.
