    Correction:

Tri-County Gun Club, Cuyama CA. 1,000 yards plus

The majority of the range including the 800 yard line and the target butts are in San Luis Obispo County. The 900 and 1,000 yard lines are in Ventura County

CA is difficult with BLM requirements, but keep driving east to NV or AZ, and you'll do fine. Just hide your CA license plate, or they'll start shooting at you.

and dont forget to remove any bullet buttons/mag locks when you get here or most will scratch their heads.

It's called a high-speed low-drag magazine. Some Californians want them even more compact or to have them neatly machined to the receiver for better tolerances.

I'm not sure what you mean here.

BLM land is pretty much unrestricted outside of certain no shoot zones near established camp grounds and specific points of interest. BLM land is just about the only place to set up for anything over a 1/4 mile. Speaking specifically about San Diego and imperial counties.
