Congrats! Thanks for sharing. Someday I too hope to join this club. Now that SSE is over I can start saving for my big boy rifle.

Kcstott, how did that reloading set up work out in the wind? I have thought of something like that to do test loads while out at the range. It is a pain to make a bunch of test loads at home only to find out a few of the loads are good and junk the rest.

You see there is tape holding the cover on the powder measure but that not for protection against the wind that was because my hitch mount rock in the hitch a bit and i didn't want to through power all over the place.

I had to get my electron scale tucked in behind two ice chests to shield it from the wind. a light breeze disturbs it.

But over all it's not bad. we brought enough primed brass with us to get the job done. from load work up to making the shot was just over fifty rounds but I have enough powder, bullets and primers to load 200 if needed.

This was the first time I reloaded in the field and it went better then I could have hopped for. I do need to make some changes to my equipment as in a large clear box with a plywood base for my scale to keep it out of the wind.
It can't go in the camper or truck as they shift to much and the scale has to be dead level. outside of that everything can be done in the field with easy. I was able to make corrections to seating depth and powder charge easy. load five shoot five.

That sounds great, I have seen someone reload at the range but they were using Lee powder cups to measure. It was actually a really bad set up. They didn't even bother to resize after shooting a round. They just wanted something that went bang. Accurate they were not.

Lots of ranges unless they have a bench rest shoot will not let you reload.
One more reason I shoot on public land. I can do what I want when I want
