How far from parking to the firing line?

Is the 100yd line marked to set a target and check zero?

Being paper targets so you can set your 100 yard zero. You don't need targets for farther out. They have steel out to almost 900.

You park right at the firing line (almost) and if you wanted to paint the steel targets down range ask for spray paint. They shouldnlet you drive uprange to paint them during the ceasefire fire but ask first to be sure.

I usually drag the bench out of the way and shoot from the ground.

Bring a chamber flag because they expect you to use them there. If you dont have one ask for one or they'll make you pull your rifle off the line during the ceasefire Not a big deal though.

It has been a lot of years since I have been to Pala. Do they allow you to drive downrange to set up a target?

Yes you can drive down range during the hourly ceasefires. In fact if you plan to go past the 200 yard line they tell you to drive in order to save time.

As far as what time to show up, they go hot at 8 so if you want to go down range to set a target be there earlier than that so you dont hold people up(or have to wait until 9 to set a target). Used to be that if you wanted to ensure you got a spot you wanted to try and get there between 7:10-7:20 ish, but since the ammo shortages I haven't seen a full line at 8am in a while. Still, every day is different and you never know when its going to fill up, so I'd get there early just to be safe. Before the ammo shortages, if you showed up at 7:40 you probably weren't getting a spot..

Yes, it is a crosswind, usually Left to Right. That's why scopes have this knob on the right side of the scope. Here, let me show you where to find it.

That knob is for suckers. I use the bend in the blades of grass to calculate the wind speed and convert that to the required holdover. It allows more flexibility as speeds change.

But you're using a MOA scope so must be shooting F class. It's a more advanced technique used by the tatical shooters among us using mils.
