Hmmm, explains why guys smirk at my 6mmBR in the locker room.... 66 rounds at 1,000yds slung-up ain't gonna wear me out.

Efficient cartridges make excellent use of their available powder and case/bore capacity. They yield good ballistic performance with relatively little recoil and throat erosion.

I have the CA in 338 and Creedmoor. You'll enjoy shooting 338. It's the only 338 where you can shoot a whole mag standing up.

If it was about hits on target at longrange, they would be asking about BC not cartridge power/size...

Most 6mm cartridges shoot just as flat or flatter than a 300 win mag to 1000yds.

This is why I don't even shoot my .300WM anymore, it already has almost 500 down the tube and I love shooting it.

I have never been a dasher fan.
I'm a bigger fan of Creedmoor size rounds or the 6xc or even a standard 6br.
Any will do exactly what you want.
There are LOTS of steps between 308 and a small 6mm.
              Like say a 6.5 Creedmoor...

if you hate the dasher, you've likely never shot one

the 6.5 creedmoor with Lapua SRP brass does look appealing with the newer high BC bullets though

I never said I hate it.
It's a fine cartridge in a single shot.
Just not a fan of it in magazines, hence the creedmoors or the XC recommendations as both of those feed slick as grease on glass from unmodified mags.

They feed if you use the right magazine

Dashers, and any BR based cartridge not feeding properly is 100% setup error.

if you use the right mags, they feed the same as any other short action caliber.

I love my 6mmBR and agree entirely with what you say, That's why it's not as popular with some other choices that are easy "plug and play" options. Mag/feeding and the short case that flips off of the extractor/ejector prematurely....once again, 100% set-up and/or user issue.

Maybe look at the Gay Tiger too.

I don't get it? What's the downside to the 6GT, other than brass availability or having to form it yourself?
