    ELR Central vs KO2M

Theoretical topic for discussion .. not for flaming, just actual conversation

It seems with the start of the "world record" ELR Central there will be a natural split between the KO2M style and "world record " events. KO2M is the top long range format as of now with them setting the rules of ELR to date. You win KO2M you are the best.

    Formats
KO2M Multi target - short time frame - targets of different sizes - sniper format - no cold bore - top score wins
ELR C Basically single target - more time per target - standardized target - luke warm bore - win / lose ... no in between

Will they work together or eventually split? With such a small group of competitors a split would not be good for anyone. Think CART / IRL factions of Indycar.

KO2M is changing their rules to 40 lb rifle in 2019
Most top competitors will do both formats and now with different equipment for each.
This will essentially add 50% more cost and 50% more time invested.

What is happening now is what I sort off predicted a while ago

AB is putting most of the shooters out of competition . . . . just with changing th rules

    But it will backfire . . .

Since who will keep buying their fancy 'toys' . . . ?

I see them as being 2 separate events. One being a match and the other being a record event. My interest in both events is kind of the David vs. Goliath mind set. Do I think they have an advantage in either or both? Yes. But that makes me want to beat them even more.

As far as having 2 separate rifles, I think my set up, even in its heaviest configuration is sub 40 lbs, so for me, one rifle would play either game.

In my mind it would be a win to place ahead or even close to some of the big names in the sport. I feel the same way shooting PRS style matches against the big named "sponsored shooters", I don't do a lot of beating them, but I have on multiple ocasions placed ahead of them on a given day. I believe it makes me a better shooter and I feel ELR would be much the same. If the competition is difficult it will push people to do better. Just my $.02

I think the Warner Flatlines are a patented design and when the specs came out on the various forums about the new bullet lawyers were called.
If you go back to those other threads all mention of the new bullet have been deleted.
