Another basic question regarding match bullets

I noticed some loaded match .308 ammo I recently bought (SSA 168 gr OTM)has a cannelure. I opened a box of Federal, Hornady, and Black Hills, these do not have the cannelure. Do bullets without the cannelure out perform the ones with the cannelure at 500-600 yards?

Usally they do yes. I haven't seen a match/target style bullet yet with a cannelure.

Even in .308, 500-600 yards isn't that far where it will make a huge difference. 800 plus, then you start really seeing a difference.

Thanks NorCalFocus, this ammo is sold by Pro Shooters Shop as match. I bought some from a fellow Calgunner. We got just under MOA at 100.

Not bad for military style ammo. Depending on the gun, higher quality ammo should close up your groups.
