Drop in adjustable trigger Rem. 700

I'm building a long range precision rifle. Starting basis is a Remington 700 action. I would like suggestions for an adjustable drop in trigger. Thank you.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

What is your target trigger weight? The Timney Calvin Elite and Jewel HVR are both great triggers, but are designed for a lighter trigger pull. The Timney is 8oz-2.5lbs, the jewel has different springs so you can run 3oz up to 56oz. I run both tuned at 10 oz and love them.

      That sounds good, thank you.

You can order a trigger preset from timney

Shilen offers a trigger with a wide range of adjustment.

Is this going to be a bench gun, or do you need it to be reliable while dusty/dirty from being shot in prone or carried in the field?

I use a Timney 512. About $125, it does what I want it to do. Far better than the Remington standard adjustable trigger. Wide shoe, nickel plated, zero slack, nice and smooth.

Good question. What would you recommend for a reliable trigger in dirty/dusty conditions?

A worked-over old-style Remington, a Timney 510 series or any other good single lever trigger like a Rifle Basix.
Avoid double lever triggers like Jewel or Timney Calvin Elite as the 2nd lever tends to get stuck when dirty.

If a single lever trigger gets stuck, simply raking the trigger front to back a few times with two fingers in the triggerguard will clear it.
You can't clear a stuck double lever trigger without disassembly and cleaning.
