He/she might need the rings lapped. That is about another $50 in tools. He/she may also need a torque wrench.

Sorry, OP. I am not in the Temecula area.

This is all you need: https://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-Scope.../dp/B002PQKGSI

This won't be the last scope you need mounted, and with this kit you'll be set.

I would never recommend Wheeler junk for anything other than putting together kids toys. Overpriced junk. It even comes with the #1 most overused unnecessary product around. Locktite.

all that is "Needed" is a lapping bar, other tools are nice, like an Inch pound torque wrench but not needed.

Like I said I have all tools needed, Lapping bars for 30mm and 1", Bushnell professional collimator. Snap-on torque wrenches calibrated & traceable to NIST,

Why do gun tools need to be registered and traced? Is that part of the Executive Order that puts more burdens on gunsmiths?

I hope you're being funny. Nothing is registered. NIST is the National Institute of standards and technology, but when you are talking about inch pounds and in the 15-25 inch pound range on rings up to 35 inch pound for other rings and bases screws and 65 inch pounds for cross bolt clamp screws.

You better make sure your stuff is right on the money. Traceability means no customer can ever question if the scope is tight "enough" No it's not tight "enough"... it's torqued to manufacturer's specs. see it's real easy to over tighten something in the inch pound range. Very easy to destroy a set of rings over tightening screws. With a traceable, calibrated tool there is no question of the results,

That Wheeler kit, How the hell do know where the accuracy is?? how do you know that 20 inch pounds is in fact 20 inch pounds and not 15 or 25 inch pounds?? My wrenches are listed at +/- 3% CW and +/-4% CCW from 20% to 100% of scale and my certs say the worst reading was about half that.

Yeah so go ahead buy your tinker toy tools but I ask you this. When you have thousands to ten thousand dollars tied up in a rifle are you going to trust your $2K-$6K scope to a $25 "torque" Wrench??

Go spend the money on two wrenches and never look back.
