    Sierra TMK 30 Caliber

Been using SMK 168gr and SMK 175gr for years and years. A while back they brought out the Moly versions and really like the ease of barrel cleaning with those.

Now I see they are offering the TMK. Just bought a 500 round brick of both the 168 and 175.

My question, anyone got any feedback on them. I know what Sierra says as to their selling points. But, thought I would see what those who have used them have to say, besides being more expensive.

For me out to 600yds ,I see only a 1/2min improvement. With so little difference I don't think the tmk is worth the cost.

I don't know any serious long-range competitive shooters using TMK's. I am getting great results with 155 Hybrids and lots of people use the Sierra 155 (2156's). The TMK's just look nice and impact 2MOA low at 1,000 yds. The BC isn't what Sierra publishes.

I watched CGM Ahhnother8 this last Feb shoot 155tmk,and yes the tmk's aren't all Sierra says they are .And that's a bullet moving out at 3000fps.

I have just started to try the 168 TMK because I got a bunch on sale. Typically, I only shoot the 168 SMK in 308 as it's a really accurate bullet for what I consider to be practical 308 ranges. However, I need to get a new barrel on my 308 before I work up a real load.

It definitely is another viable option now for light weight 30 cals. I think that they will be more suited for better cartridges like the 300 WSM.

For me, the jury is still out.
