Shooters we went out to 2054 yards Friday and we had two new shooters with us Shaun and Matt.
Shaun had a 300 Win mag and was using Berger 230s in it.
White Mamba was shooting his 338 Lapua and a 300 Win mag.
I was only shooting my 50BMG I call Big Red because I had the scope and variable base off of it and didn't get a chance to shoot it before the trip.
It took White Mamba 6 shots to set one of the lights off.
Next shooter was Shaun. He took a shot or two and once we saw his bullet splash he was on target after 6 shots setting off the light array.
Next up was myself and we were lucky enough to see bullet splash right away so it only took 4 shots to get a hit and set off the lights.
Matt was the last shooter and he was shooting Shaun's gun and 3 shots later he was on the target setting off the light array and making him this weeks King of 2054 Yards.
The winds were very nice and our shots were dialing right in which always makes it more fun.
My scope was set around 12-16 power and seeing the gong and hits was not a problem all morning.
With your naked eye it is very hard to see the gong even though it is painted white. With a scope it is no problem at all.
We will be shooting some smaller cartridges next time out to see how hard it is going to be to see the bullet splashes which are critical to dialing in
One more thing.
It isn't as hard as most people think it is but having windless days sure helps.
